Rideau Public School - Weekly Memo Oct. 27 - 31
Happy Saturday Rideau Families,
You are receiving this newsletter on Saturday because I am at the school for our Used Clothes Sale! We are here until 1:00 this afternoon, you still have time to come. There are great fines in shoes, clothes, books and toys. Don't miss out!
Did you know that one of the Ministry of Education's objective is to have 90% of students attending 90% of the time? Well we are getting really close to this goal as 87% of Rideau students are here 90% of the time. Well done Rhinos!
Fresh from the Farm fundraiser ended on October 17. It looks like Parent Council has raised around $500.00 through this fundraising. Thank you very much for your generosity!
On Thursday, we had our school assembly. It was beautiful to see the students sing together. What an amazing group of children we have!
Picture Day is on October 29. See the poster below.
BOO BASH is happening this week on Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 8:00 at the school. Come in wearing your costume of choice, children and adults as well. Enter through the accessible door of the parking lot. There will be tons of fun activities for the kids and it is a great time for parents to mingle with other families. Aside from the games, Boo Bash also has a bake sale where treats are offered at a reasonable price. If you are able to donate some Baked Goods, sign up on this form. You might have to request access.
LEGO ROBOTICS is cancelled this week because of Boo Bash, we don't want to put too much on our students' plate.
RIDEAU WEAR - we will soon have the Rideau Wear online store open with new clothing. Stay tuned for more information.
HALLOWEEN - Children are permitted to wear a school appropriate costume (no mask, no weapons). Please know that we are not responsible for lost accessories or damaged costumes. some children wear last year's costume at school and keep their good one to go Trick or Tricking at night. Gentle reminder that somebody's culture is not a costume; be respectful and responsible in your choice of costumes.
CHOICES AT 7 - for children in grade 6, there are options for grade 7. More information to follow, but see the poster below.
This week will be busy, savour every moment!
