Bonjour Rideau Families,
Here is the end of September. The students are now in their routine and learning is going well. You have had the chance to visit your child's class last Thursday and could see all the great things happening during their day. If you need to discuss your child's progress, communicate with their teacher to set up a meeting.
Terry Fox - Our website is up and running for donation. Our school will run on September 28.
Parent Council Meeting - Tuesday is Parent Council AGM, elections and first meeting. Join us in the staff room at 3:45. You can nominate yourself by following this link: Rideau Public School - Parent Council Nomination Form 2026-2027 – Fill out form
Orange Shirt Day - This week, on Wednesday, it is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We invite all students and staff to wear an orange shirt. Over the past weeks, we have shared the calls to action in the morning announcements.
Data verification - Data Verification forms were sent home this past week. They are used to verify that we have correct contact information for families. Please review and return as soon as possible. Merci!
Clothes Sale - Rideau is hosting a second hand clothing swap to help keep items circulating locally in the Kingston community. Good for your wallet, good for the planet! It will be on October 24. See info, posters, and links below for details!
EQAO - The results for the provincial assessment that took place last spring are now public. See our results below. We can be really proud of our students and teachers. See the results below.

Our first official meeting will be September 29th at 3:45 pm. We will hold our AGM and elect the 2026-2027 School Advisory Council.

Open to everyone, help us spread the word in the Kingston Community (through your socials, word of mouth, parent group chats, day cares, hockey teams, dance groups etc etc!)
Volunteers needed
Oct 23: Sorting
We need help! Oct 23 anytime between 2:30-until it's done (~8pm)! Come for 15 min or come for 5 hours. Pop in for a few minutes before or after pick up, with or without kiddos! Every little bit helps!
Fun fact: The kids who came to help last year had a great time, bring your kids so they can be a part of this event that supports our community and the environment.
October 24: Take down
Swing by the school at ~2pm to pick up a few boxes of leftover items to donation locations
