Rideau Public School - Weekly Memo January 5-9 2026
Bonjour Rideau Families,
Hello Families,
We hope you and your children had a wonderful two week break!
Our transportation partner, Tri-Board Student Transportation Services (Tri-Board), works closely with school bus companies to determine whether it is safe to operate on days with adverse weather. With today's forecast of significant snowfall during the day Triboard has canceled all bus transportation. Hopefully we will all be back to school tomorrow, but please be sure to sign up for notifications from Triboard so you receive updates about your child's bus if things change in the morning.
We understand that transportation cancellations can be disruptive for families, but safety is always Tri-Board’s top priority for the 30,000-plus students who ride the bus each day. Learn more about how to prepare for winter weather and manage bus cancellation days on our website.
We have a fairly uneventful week at Rideau this week. In December, we had an assembly that focused on the rules and expectations for the yard during recess, which was all about being safe and having fun. Feel free to review our hands-off policy with your child and speak with them about their positive conflict resolution strategies.
Our next parent council meeting is Tuesday, January 13th at 3:45pm. Join us if you can - we have great projects on the go and it is nice to hear your voice. There will be someone available to look after children.
