Rideau Public School
Weekly Memo February 23-27
Bonjour Rideau Families,
I hope you’ve all had a great weekend. It was great to see so many families at the Kingston Frontenacs game on Saturday - we even got a shout out over the loudspeaker!
Our lost and found is piling up again. Next time you're at Rideau, please stop by our lost and found to see if anything belongs to your child. Additionally, please encourage your child(ren) to visit the lost and found. If items are labeled, they are returned to students, so please make sure to label everything you send to school so that we can help it find its way home!

Puzzles: One of our educators reached out to ask if our parent community happens to have any puzzles they might be willing to donate.
The educator is looking for 30, 60, or 100 piece puzzles. You can drop them off to the office or send them with your child to school. You can add a note saying “attn: Mme. Kim”.
Garden Club: Also, don’t forget about any seeds, hourglass shaped 2L bottles, or soil you might have for our garden club.
Our Parent Council is recruiting volunteers for Bingo!
- Rideau Public School is now a registered charity for bingo fundraising at Community Spirit Gaming Centre at 900 Montreal Street.
- Volunteer shifts are two hours long and are various times including during the day, evening, and weekends.
- Duties are very light: mostly greeting people, walking around the bingo hall, and getting a runner's attention if someone gets a bingo.
- Shifts are very lucrative: each two-hour shift earns about $600 for our library renovations, kindergarten yard shade, and many other initiatives for students.
- There are currently only two shifts a month so the time commitment is low. However, volunteers must be reliable and punctual.
If you are up for joining their crew of bingo volunteers, please fill out this form and someone will be in touch with you!
Parent Council is fundraising through Dominos Pizza on March 22nd!
Start saving your donations and get ready to shop at our spring clothing sale/swap! A great way to keep items circulating locally in our community :) Details coming soon!
- Donate: Pre-loved kids clothes 0-14 years, books, and tiny toys (smaller than your fist) for our Tiny Toy Swap!
- Shop: All sales are pay what you can, all $ goes to the school
- Open to the community, help spread the word!
